옛날 옛적, 머나먼 은하계에서는 우주 연합의 주도로 전 우주의 생명체 보호를 위한 우주생명보호기구 ULPO(Universe Life Protection Organization)가 설립되어, 보호가 필요한 행성에 비밀 요원을 파견해 은밀히 실태조사와 종별 보호 방법을 연구해오고 있다.

ULPO의 129기 신입 요원인 달리와 아몬은 지구 생명체 연구 부서에서 개와 고양이를 담당하고 있다. 25년의 수습기간을 마친 달리와 아몬은 통신 로봇 나나와 함께 우주선 비글호를 타고 지구에 첫 현장 투입된다.

하지만 첫 번째 지구 현장 조사 임무를 완수하고 돌아가던 중 달리와 아몬은 유기견 시루의 비상탈출 버튼 오줌 투척 사건으로 지구 난민 생활을 시작한다.

Once upon a time, in distant galaxies, Universe Life Protection Organization (ULPO), a space life protection organization for the protection of life in the universe, has been established under the leadership of the Space Union, sending secret agents to planets that need protection.

Dali and Amon, the 129th new members of ULPO, are in charge of dogs and cats in the Earth Life Research Department. After a 25-year probationary period, Dali and Amon will be sent to Earth for the first time aboard the spacecraft Beagle with Nana, a communications robot.

시루 SIRU

서울 남산 깊은 골짜기 오래된 느티나무 틈새에서 혼자 살고 있는 명랑 유기견이다. 친화력이 좋고 늘 에너지가 넘친다. 참치를 좋아해 길냥이들의 참치캔을 자주 뺏어 먹지만, 진짜 참치는 한 번도 먹어본 적이 없다. 영문도 모른 채 우주선에 납치(?)되어 우연히 달리, 아몬과 한가족이 되지만, 만만한 나나와는 치열한 서열싸움을 벌인다.

Siru likes tuna, so he often steals tuna cans from street cats, but he has never eaten real tuna. Without knowing why, he is kidnapped by a spaceship and happens to be a family with Amon, but he fights fiercely with Nana, who is similar in size.

ULPO에서 달리와 아몬에게 지급된 인공지능 케어 로봇이자, 통신수단. 나나의 몸에는 ULPO와 교신할 수 있는 통신기가 내장되어 있다. 지구에서는 물고기 모양의 강아지 장난감으로 위장하고 있다. 구조적인 문제로 기동성이 매우 떨어지지만, 시루를 길들여 등에 타고 다닌다. 말은 못하지만 가끔 우주방언이 터지기도 한다.
